The Newfoundland Male Fertility Home Self Test Kit provides quick and accurate results within just five minutes, allowing you to assess whether the concentration of sperm in your sample falls within the perceived normal range or not.

When it comes to achieving conception, one of the crucial factors is the sperm concentration in semen. A low sperm count can pose challenges and make conception difficult, if not impossible.

Due to the significance of sperm concentration in fertility, doctors closely monitor it when couples face difficulties conceiving.

Male infertility is a common issue, affecting approximately 7% of men. However, it’s important to note that a low sperm count is not the sole determinant. Even with a sperm count within the normal range, other factors such as weak, inactive, or deformed sperm can impact fertility.

By utilising the Newfoundland Male Fertility Home Self Test Kit, you gain valuable insights into your sperm concentration and potential fertility concerns. Early identification of any issues allows for timely intervention and appropriate measures to enhance your chances of conception.

Before you test, it is imperative that you abstain from any kind of sexual activity for 3-7 days. This will help to ensure that the volume and quality of the sperm in your sample is at its peak and that your result will be an accurate depiction of your sperm concentration.

The semen sample should be extracted during masturbation directly into the test cup. Take care not to contaminate the sample in any way, including by touch or tissue.

Before opening the test cassette, leave the semen sample to stand at room temperature for one hour at room temperature. Do not, however, wait longer than 12 hours before testing the sample.

  1. Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and lay it carefully on a flat surface.
  2. Input your semen sample into the cup provided.
  3. Leave the sample to stand for 60 minutes. This will ensure that your semen is properly liquefied.
  4. Take the semen transfer device (provided) and fill up to the 0.1ml level indicated on the device with the semen sample. Now add the sample to the vial of sample dilution buffer.
  5. Mix the semen sample with the test solution (dilution buffer), securing the lid and turning the vial upside down 5-10 times.
  6. Hold the vial upright and open the cap. Transfer 2 full drops to the specimen well of the test cassette, then set a timer for 5 minutes.
  7. Wait 5 minutes after dispensing the specimen to read the results. Do not read the results after 10 minutes.
